But if you already have admin access why bother using the “at” cmd line hack? There are alot of ways to elevate your privelages if you are already in admin group. I’m working on a way to get a hack that just boots from a cd or USB drive.
The largest hole in XP that you can exploit from boot is that if you use a windows 2000 disc and go to the recovery console you have access to all NTFS files, no restrictions.
Now all we have to do is figure out where and why this vulnerability can be exploited without having to actually do all the cmd line work to insert a temphack app into the system32 file and reboot, then go back in with the 2000 disc and remove your temphack file so everything goes back to normal.
Hate to tell you this you can get into anyones account if you are the administrator. Just go into the control panel, you will figure it out. You don’t even have to be a wannabe hacker
This actually is useful tsolum when as an adminisntrator I’ve got to fix something on a users domain account while I’m sitting at their box without their password, or them to give it to me. No matter who you log in as you can’t change a domain password from the local box control panel.
You can remote into the Domain Controller and use Active Directory to change their password, but that’s a lot of steps to work on a problem on a domain account. The method demonstrated takes many less steps.

Hi guys, i know this is not the plat form for what am about to say but i really have a problem and will love to share to all.
Am running this version of windows ” windows xp punto sp3 III” and i dont know really know wassup with the windows. It is just not friendly with mp3 or some audio or video file types. You can use Linux based program to recover password (check google, seek and you’ll find), “replace” XP (as described above) or use pwdump2/john-the-ripper type approach. Either way, its not easy but you can start from here.
Or reinstall the XP if you don’t have any application/programs/drivers to worry about.

Using a windows password reset disk you can do this!
First you can boot from a cd with msdos prompt or any command line interface if you know(Just to read and rite NTFS file system), go to \windows\system32\config\ and save SAM and SYSTEM (these files keep the infomation about users and their passwords)file in some place safe then use the password reset disk and change the password
then logon to windows and do whatever you want
When you need make the password as it was before, boot with any cd that can read and rite NFFS filesystem then just take the SAM and SYSTEM file form where you Saved it before and replace them with the existing files in \windows\system32\config\ that will make the users password as it was before
done…….
But if this is not enough for you!, you can also check the current passwords saved in SAM file buy using a software named “SAMinside” ( you will need both SAM and SYSTEM file for SAMinside)
you can also check the other users passwords using SAMinside by just logging on to windows with an administrator

i just wanted to ask whether each and every system is accessible in safe mode without the system asking for any password?
i’ve my doubts because here in india users are almost always aware that the default ‘Administrator’ account allows default (no password) access. so what the smarties here do is to make one and the only account enabled (which is, you guessed it right, ‘Administrator.’
so when i tried accessing one system (of which the user was on holiday that day) by its ‘Administrator’ account, it not-so-politely refused me access. then obviusly i had to try some other backdoor entry.
one such method is to boot from an xp cd and go into recovery console. but, there too, it prevented me access asking for a password.
the only other fail-proof means i could dig out is this:
use an emergency boot cd or hiren’s boot cd. this would show you the passwords for all the users available in the system.
i guess much of my research has been wasted on straight methods while roundabouts already existed.
keep the posts coming with new ideas.

with school computers this is not blocked…
then type in “net user”
then some user accounts will be displayed…
next type in “net user XXXX *” in the XXXX area type in the user account that you want to change the password to
and yes the * after the user account…
if you did it right then u’ll get thigs asking to make a password and it will ask you a couple of times…
eventually it will complete the process and now u may get on to that account.

Well heres something I am a little stuck on…I had to install a new windows partition onto a different hard drive, as the previous windows partition on the other drive wouldnt open after I had updated mobo, grfx, ram, chip etc.
Now heres my problem…I have access to everything on the computer apart from my previous passworded documents on the “original windows partition”.
Now this is a major problem, as I have some important documents I need access to, but of course I cant get at them :-S

Well heres something I am a little stuck on…I had to install a new windows partition onto a different hard drive, as the previous windows partition on the other drive wouldnt open after I had updated mobo, grfx, ram, chip etc.
Now heres my problem…I have access to everything on the computer apart from my previous passworded documents on the “original windows partition”.
Now this is a major problem, as I have some important documents I need access to, but of course I cant get at them :-S
Anyone know how I can solve this ?
